Bio

Hello - My name is Cory and I'm a U.S. Air Force veteran who leads Military & Veteran Programs at LinkedIn. I collaborate with nonprofits and government partners to support military professionals facing career barriers.

Previously, I led LinkedIn’s Military & Veterans Recruiting programs, where I focused on connecting military community professionals to incredible career opportunities at LinkedIn.

Prior to LinkedIn, I was a Manager at Deloitte and an Associate at the investment management firm BlackRock, which is where I started working in 2013 while finishing up school at the University of Pennsylvania. While at Penn, I majored in International Relations and Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (Behavioral Science), two research-intensive, multidisciplinary majors, focusing my studies on stakeholder engagement, risk management, and decision-making.

Before attending college, I served in the U.S. Air Force as a strategic communications manager assigned to the 1st Combat Camera Squadron in Charleston, South Carolina. My duties included acquiring, editing, and disseminating video products in support of worldwide combat and humanitarian operations while mentoring junior troops. Throughout, I maintained a constant state of readiness and a Top Secret/SCI security clearance for short-notice deployments.

Originally from Portland, Oregon, I committed to the Air Force in 2004. My first assignment was at Kunsan Air Base, South Korea, as a broadcast journalist where I served two years before being assigned to the 1st Combat Camera Squadron. I completed a variety of missions within the broadcast career field including earthquake relief during Operation Unified Response in Haiti, tsunami relief during Operation Tomodachi in Japan, and a U.S. Central Command Special Operations Task Force deployment in Afghanistan where I was awarded multiple medals including the Air Force Combat Action Medal. My combat documentation efforts provided General David Petraeus and other military leaders with video information used in strategic decision making. During my Air Force career, I was named Airman of the Year five times and received both the John L. Levitow Leadership Excellence Award and the William H. Pitsenbarger Academic Excellence Award.

I aim to blend my education, military leadership expertise, and corporate experience to positively impact the lives of others.

I now live in Lake Oswego, Oregon, with his partner, Melissa, and two stubborn Bulldogs, Mumford and Midas.
